Between the Tackles – Week 17 Running Backs Breakdown – NFL DFS

192

Hello there Playmakers, I’m happy to be back again for another week of NFL football. ‘Between the Tackles’ will provide you with a few of my favorite running back plays for this Sunday’s Main Slate action on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Remember to monitor your bankrolls. Have fun and good luck!!!

Top-Tier

Saquon Barkley | NYG | $8,200 DraftKings | $8,500 FanDuel
Barkley is the best RB play on this slate.

There will be a lot of talk this week regarding which guys have something to play for. One could pretty easily argue that it’s been MONTHS since Barkley has – and he’s been dominant regardless.

With the NFC East already secured, the Cowboys are likely to bench a lot of their starters this week, making things a whole lot easier on Saquon and the Giants.

The G-Men are currently 6 point home favorites in this one, securing Barkley’s status as the best RB option on this slate with players like Christian McCaffrey and Ezekiel Elliot expected to rest.

Mid-Tier

Jamal Williams| GBP | $6,000 DraftKings | $6,800 FanDuel

He’s been on the field for roughly 80% of the Packers snaps since Aaron Jones went down with his injury. He has gone for 15+ fantasy points in each of his last two starts, and this week he faces off against a Lions team that struggles at defending against the run.

The Lions ranks 20th DVOA against the run this season, and the Packers are the 4th DVOA ranked Run Offense in spite of the fact that a multitude of backs have handled the bulk of their carries. Like Barkley, Williams will be featured as a home favorite. He’s easily one of the safest options on a slate full of questions.

Value Tier

Royce Freeman| DEN | $3,500 DraftKings | $4,700 FanDuel

Going into the 2018 season, Freeman was widely regarded as one of the best rookie running backs of his class. He was out shined by un-drafted back Phillip Lindsay all season, but Lindsay is now on IR and Freeman will once again be given an opportunity to shine.

Royce is averaging a respectable 4.1 points per carry this season. We expect the Broncos to try their best to keep Rivers and the Chargers offense off the field, which would play right into an increased ceiling for Freeman as the lone lead back. He’s still priced as a back-up, thrusting him into play in all formats on both sites.

Also Consider: C. Anderson (LAR), N. Chubb (CLE), D. Williams (KC)
