March Madness – 3.8.2019 – Best Bets for Friday’s NCAABB Slate

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here back to share my Men’s NCAABB picks with you tonight and every night, as tournament time approaches. This season I have floated around 59% ATS on over 250 picks, and feel I know these teams well enough to provide consistent winners. This article will have my picks but you can also follow my Twitter for all bets against the spread. My write-ups and any O/U action will be posted exclusively here on DPA!

  • Daily Play Action ATS Record: 4-4-0
  • Daily Play Action O/U Record: 3-0-0
  • Season ATS Record: 156-112-7

Central Michigan at Western Michigan, Over 151

  • Central Michigan will likely be without Robert Montgomery in this contest for the third straight game. He is one of their top defensive players and the two games he missed yielded totals of 148 and 175
  • Meanwhile, David DiLeo will get the start at center and play at least 38 minutes. He is not nearly as involved on defense as Montgomery but is nationally ranked with a Top 70 offensive rating
  • Western Michigan is not a very good team but they can score well enough to keep pace with the 75.9 points per game they allow. After a loss they are also 13-8 O/U in favor of the over
  • Central Michigan is jarring for position in the MAC conference with Eastern Michigan. They will play hard and Western Michigan will do their best to play spoiler. Neither team is going to back down here

Samford -3.5 vs The Citadel

  • The Southern Conference Tourney does not have too much to offer but Samford is at a 70% projection to win this game. With a spread of just four points it is just too simple a pick to fade
  • Fourteen of the sixteen wins for Samford have come by at least four. Plus with a total hovering around 163 that spread really is minuscule
  • The Citadel has allowed the second most points per game in all of Division I giving up a whopping 85.7 to opponents. I think that Samford will top 86 and even flirt with 90 in this game
  • While The Citadel does have a .500 record against the spread they also lose by an average of 9.2 points as an underdog. As a favorite Samford has an average margin of victory of 8.4 points

Virginia Commonwealth -11.5 vs Saint Joseph’s

  • VCU is 19-10-1 against the spread this season. As a favorite they sit at 14-7-1 with an average margin of victory of 15.1 points
  • Not only has VCU won ten in a row but they have covered in eight of those games. This should really be another day at the office for a team that rosters just one senior in his final home game
  • Saint Joseph’s primarily runs a zone defense which is the one look that the fast paced VCU squad has had no troubles facing this season
  • With a top ten defense in the country I do not think VCU will have any troubles keeping Saint Joseph’s under 60. In their last game they held an arguably superior opponent in George Mason to just 36 points

I play every game I post so you should not be afraid to tail, but never go too heavy on any one game. These few weeks of hoops are a marathon not a sprint, so manage your bankroll appropriately. That being said scared money is lost money! Let’s win today Playmakers!
