P | Charlie Morton | Houston Astros | $12,200

Opponent: Tampa Bay Rays
Charlie Morton profiles as tonights top option.

The Astros pitchers have been popular in DraftKings MLB cash games the last two nights and tonight should be no different with Charlie Morton taking the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays. Morton is the highest priced pitcher on the slate tonight on DraftKings which likely means he will be a popular play.

In four of Morton’s last ten starts he has failed to score more than seven DraftKings points. On the surface he appears inconsistent but his numbers at home profile him as a much safer play with a 33% strikeout rate and an xFIP that sits at just 2.54. With some cheap pitching options available on tonight’s slate its very possible to fit Morton into cash or tournament lineups and still have room for the bigger bats.

P | Brent Suter | Milwaukee Brewers | $6500

Opponent: Pittsburgh Pirates
Brent Suter looks to continue consistent form at PNC Park.

The Brewers are playing at PNC Park again tonight which is a big park upgrade for Brent Suter who has been consistent as ever. At home the Pirates have been striking out a lot against right handed pitching, over 25% of the time. Meanwhile on the road Suter has just a 1.00 HR/0 with a 3.97 xFIP and very little hard contact as well.

Over his last 6 starts Suter has averaged 18.6 DKFP and hasn’t scored less than 16 in any of those outings. At just $6500 on DraftKings you won’t find many pitchers more consistent than Brent Suter in that price range. He profiles as a solid tournament play and a solid cash SP2 option that will allow you to get exposure to bats from the teams with the higher totals on the slate.

P | Austin Bibens-Dirkx | Texas Rangers | $4000

Opponent: Kansas City Royals
Austin Bibens Dirkx is a great tournament play.

The Rangers are wrapping up their series in Kansas City tonight with Austin Bibens-Dirkx taking the mound in what is a massive park upgrade for him tonight. The Royals aren’t a team that strikes out a ton, just 20% of the time against righties at home. But their offense isn’t very efficient either averaging just 3.6 runs per game, one of the worst offenses in MLB.

At minimum salary Bibens-Dirkx profiles as the best tournament punt option on the slate. There isn’t many other safe pitching options with just seven games on the slate tonight so if you’re looking to stack up bats at Coors Field or Yankee Stadium then Bibens-Dirkx will definitely be a pitcher you’ll want to have a look at.
