NCAA BASKETBALL – 11.6.2019 – Best Bets for Wednesday’s College Hoops (Free)

60

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here, back to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was happy to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season ATS Record: 2-0-0
  • Current Season Totals Record: 1-2-0
  • Previous Season ATS Record: 180-127-9

Wake Forest +2.5 at Boston College

  • Wake Forest this season looks a lot more talented especially at guard as they added senior transfer Andrien White to alleviate the minutes played by Brandon Childress. Coach Danny Manning can once again always have a lethal scorer on the court
  • Boston College improved defensively from last season but on the offensive side of the ball I think they are going to struggle. The only player on the team who averages more than 10 points per game is their center Nik Popovic
  • Due to being in such a stacked conference I do not have high expectations for Wake Forest this season. However, while their record may be ugly in March I think they will be a Top 100 team in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Boston College is unlikely to finish Top 100 in either category

Purdue -22 vs Green Bay

  • Purdue lost Carsen Edwards to the NBA but this team is still well put together and is going to grind out wins all season long. I would not be shocked if they enter conference play undefeated and that start should include blowout wins against weaker teams like Green Bay
  • Nojel Eastern is listed as a game time decision but all signs indicate he will play. I do not feel like the spread currently reflects that and even 20-25 minutes will make a big difference in Purdue’s offensive approach. I think he plays and easily scores double digits
  • Green Bay has a bottom tier defense that will probably allow opponents to score 80 or more in every game this season. That paired with one of the fastest tempos in the country makes me feel like Purdue will have no problem covering even this hefty spread

Oklahoma State -16 vs Oral Roberts

  • Oklahoma State is going to be playing passionately against an in-state rival after what was a very disappointing season last year. This should be a win that sets the pace for the season and I do think Mike Boynton will trust his experienced team to play hard and put on a show
  • I expect at least 25 minutes from sophomore Yor Anei tonight as he tries to elevate his game this season. The 6’10 center should command the paint when he is on the floor as no player on Oral Roberts is over 6’8. Size does matter in college basketball
  • The guard play of Isaac Likekele and Thomas Dziagwa is something I look forward to watching all season from Oklahoma State. I think they will not just be attacking from beyond the arc but getting great inside drives against Oral Roberts this evening

Virginia vs Syracuse, Under 124.5

  • Since Tony Bennett took over as coach of Virginia in 2010 the total has gone under in 58% of games played. That is something anyone would guess but surprisingly Syracuse has also stayed under in most of their games, including in 56% of games played last season
  • Mamadi Diakite is a huge factor in this game. He protects the rim, blocks shots and will likely find success at the next level. Even more promising for this under is going to be the play of 7’1 Jay Huff who provides added defense and really struggles to make his own shots fall
  • If you are planning to watch some exciting basketball this is not the game for you. Syracuse is projecting to be in the bottom 20 percent in tempo this season while Virginia is once again projected to be the team with the slowest tempo in the country. The public loves the under and I do too

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
