NCAA BASKETBALL – 11.7.2019 – Best Bets for Thursday’s College Hoops (Free)

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here, back to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was happy to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season ATS Record: 2-2-1
  • Current Season Totals Record: 2-2-0
  • Previous Season ATS Record: 180-127-9

Winthrop -3 at Hartford

  • Winthrop loses several key pieces from last season, but this team was solid all year winning eighteen games and I am anticipating a similar season. Kyle Zunic and Josh Ferguson will anchor this experienced attack in what should be a high scoring game
  • Hartford is likely to start just one upperclassman that being the transfer Traci Carter from La Salle. He is absolutely going to be the leading scorer on their side of the court, but I think he alone will not be able to carry their offense. That is at least for today’s contest
  • Winthrop has won 11 of their last 14 season openers and I expect more of the same tonight. Hartford has also already played this season leaving them minimal time to game plan. On Tuesday they defeated Central Connecticut, who is likely the worst team in the Northeast conference. This opened as a pick’em but the spread was quickly driven to -3

Bryant vs Rutgers, Under 143.5

  • Bryant is going to be sluggish out of the gate after playing on Tuesday and having to travel. They went 8 for 28 beyond the arc and now will face a much tougher defense in Rutgers. I believe the Scarlet Knights may finish the season ranked in the Top 50 in defensive efficiency
  • The highest scoring returning player for Rutgers is Geo Baker who only averaged 12.2 points per game last season. Even as a team that struggles on defense, I think Bryant should do better than usual defending tonight holding Rutgers to well under 80
  • Bryant is a team that rebounds well which is important anytime you are betting an under. Unfortunately, Rutgers outsizes them quite significantly. They should be able to command the paint, force outside shots and absolutely crash the defensive glass against Bryant

Seattle +3 at Washington State

  • Seattle got to start the season off with an easy win against Pacific Lutheran. Even against inferior competition shooting 57 percent as a team is extremely impressive at the college level and I believe it is a sign of things to come for this improved Seattle team
  • If I were to predict who is in the basement of the Pac-12 at season’s end it would be Washington State. I do not think they have a path to ten wins this year unless CJ Elleby is to go on a monster run this season that ends with him being an NBA first rounder
  • You would assume Washington State is the more talented team but that is something I would argue. It is really a question of who aside from Elleby will be scoring for the Cougars whereas Seattle can spread the ball around and find offense in Terrell Brown and senior Myles Carter

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
