NCAA BASKETBALL – 2.23.2020 – Best Bets for Sunday’s College Hoops (Free)

28

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here happy to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was able to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season Record: 218-221-6
  • Previous Season Record: 180-127-9

Saint John’s vs Seton Hall, Under 148.5

  • I am not expecting this game to be the easiest bet ever, but I do know this total is inflated and you should be attacking the value here. Seton Hall has a top tier defense and as long as the pace stays reasonable, we should finish in the low 140 range at worst
  • Mustapha Heron was the heart and soul of this Saint John’s team but now due to his injury they will just be looking to finish out this season without embarrassing themselves. Without his offense on the court today I expect the Red Storm will really struggle
  • You are never going to stop Myles Powell. However, Saint John’s has talented defensive guards that should be able to step up and limit the success of Quincy McKnight here. I think by forcing the issue we will get a lot more empty possessions for the Pirates this afternoon

Boise State -9.5 vs New Mexico

  • The Mountain West Conference got rocked last night as San Diego State lost to UNLV. Now Boise State is in prime position to challenge them during the conference tournament, but still needs to win out to keep their postseason hopes alive
  • The Lobos have lost three games in a row and failed to cover in each. I think that laying this many points will prove to be no issue as the Broncos continue to dominate on their home court. They are 12-2 straight up and 11-3 against the spread at Taco Bell Arena this year
  • One reason you see a lot of public money on the Lobos is because they beat Boise in the teams’ first meeting. However, that contest was played in December way back in the early stretch of conference play. Boise State has improved dramatically as a team since

Miami vs Notre Dame, Over 147.5

  • Both squads enter this game on a big offensive stretch. They are a combined 15-5 to the over this past month or so and should each cruise to at least 70 points with no issue. Miami is especially hot lately winning three in a row and averaging 86 points per game
  • Even in a down year for the ACC it looks like either of these teams can make a late run to earn a bid in March Madness. They are each ranked inside the Top 50 in terms of offensive efficiency and only really seem to struggle when it come to defending their opponents
  • Chris Lykes has been lights out in Miami’s past three games, but he is also a defensive liability whenever he is on the court. It will not be hard for Prentiss Hubb to find space for Notre Dame and he himself is coming off an impressive 20-point performance Monday night

Stanford -3.5 at Washington State

  • Stanford was an easy winner on Thursday, and we are going back to the Cardinal here. They were able to travel up to Washington and win on the road so no reason they can’t match that feat again tonight in Pullman. I think they win by at least eight or nine points here
  • Washington State got absolutely smoked by Stanford in their first meeting this season as the Cardinal beat them by 26 points. The leading scorer for them was also Isaac Bonton, who has sat out his past two games and is questionable tonight. Even if he plays, I think we are safe
  • History also leans the way of Stanford in this one. They have been dominant in this series winning nine of the last ten and covering three games in a row. This is a really small number to lay here so do it, but I think the money line is also a near lock

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
