NCAA BASKETBALL – 2.25.2020 – Best Bets for Tuesday’s College Hoops (Free)

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here happy to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was able to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season Record: 224-222-6
  • Previous Season Record: 180-127-9

Duke vs Wake Forest, Over 152.5

  • Here is your bet of the night as the Blue Devils travel just an hour west to face Wake Forest. There is nothing special about this Demon Deacons team, but they are averaging a healthy 75 points per game and are 9-3 to the over this season at Joel Coliseum
  • These two teams have crushed the over all season long including in their last meeting. You know that Duke is going to get the best effort from their opponents every game and tonight will be no different. I think 85-75 is a very realistic total for what should be a high scoring game
  • Brandon Childress is finally getting the green light now that the season is out of hand for Wake Forest and I could not be happier. He has averaged nearly six three-point attempts over the past five games and if he connects on just a few tonight our high will cash

DePaul vs Xavier, Under 137

  • Whenever these two squads get together the under is going to be a smart bet. In their past eight meetings the low has been a winner which is a pretty unprecedented streak in terms of trends. I think this total is also way too high and we are getting value anyways
  • Xavier also enters this game having gone under in five of their last six. The defense is locking in on every possession and the Musketeers are currently allowing just 65 points per game at home. They should win this one with a final score something like 68-60 tonight
  • On the other hand, we have DePaul who just broke an atrocious eight game losing streak. Their offense showed signs of life against a depleted Georgetown squad but nothing I saw was persuasive enough. I do not think they have the shooting to stay competitive

Alabama vs Mississippi State, Over 157.5

  • These teams are a combined 37-17 to the over on the season and although this is a very high total, I think the pace will be more than enough to get us there. It is almost a guarantee the winner will need 80 points or more here, which bodes very well for our cause
  • Of course, none of the totals they have seen are this high but still the Bulldogs have had eight consecutive games go over the posted total. They now are ranked higher than Alabama in terms of offensive efficiency and should be extremely competitive here at home
  • Neither of these squads are particularly senior laden but history has been on the side of the over as well. Five of the last six meetings between these teams have gone over and they have been linking up twice a year. They already combined for 159 earlier this season

Texas Tech vs Oklahoma, Under 138.5

  • I have bet on or against Texas Tech in their past three games but am instead looking at the under here. The Red Raiders are allowing just 62 points per game and have been able to completely shut down several Quadrant I foes. Even their freshman play solid on defense
  • This game is being played at Chesapeake Energy Arena which makes me love this under even more. Since 2005 neutral court games have been going under about 55 percent of the time and it feels as if early games this season followed suit. An NBA arena just feels different
  • The game was already in hand for Texas Tech this Saturday as they demolished Iowa State with a bonus 22 points in the final ten minutes. With an upcoming battler against Texas this Saturday I imagine that the starters will push the ball a bit less if they lead tonight

North Carolina State +2 at North Carolina

  • The Tarheels has lost seven games in a row so I am not sure why they are favored against anyone. This is a Quadrant II game against a very tough North Carolina State game, and I think we are very lucky to be getting points here. Lock in the Wolfpack tonight
  • Keep in mind this team just beat Duke by 22 points just six days ago. You could make an argument that the Blue Devils are the best team in the country making that as good a win as you can earn. Conversely, North Carolina has just two Quadrant I wins this season
  • It has been four games in a row for the Tarheels in this series, but I think we are going to see a lot of passion from the Wolfpack in a win. At the very least we will likely pull out a close cover, but my expectation is a pretty significant margin of victory this evening

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
