NCAA BASKETBALL – 2.7.2020 – Best Bets for Friday’s College Hoops (Free)

43

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here happy to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was able to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season Record: 191-184-6
  • Previous Season Record: 180-127-9

Yale -5.5 vs Harvard

  • Yale has been printing money for us all season and this may be the best value we have gotten with the Bulldogs. They are 14-4 against the spread this year and are coming off a dominant performance against Cornell, but one they just barely failed to cover
  • Robert Baker has been in a terrible slump and conceding a lot of minutes to the smaller Chris Lewis for Harvard. This evening we should see Paul Atkinson absolutely shred inside the paint for Yale against this defense. He is averaging 17 points per game
  • Harvard has been the favorite in their past five contests but failed to cover in each of them. They have really struggled when it comes to closing games and are being demolished by teams that can shoot the three. Yale is the best in the Ivy when it comes to shots from beyond the arc

Pennsylvania -5.5 at Columbia

  • Columbia’s offense has not been able to get anything going as of late so there is no reason to trust them here. They have averaged fewer than 60 points per game during their latest three game skid. I expect Penn to blow them out by ten or more tonight
  • Our Quakers enter today winners of three in a row and certainly sitting in the top half of the Ivy league. They have two Quadrant I victories on their resume which is a lot better than several tournament teams can say. This squad will likely run up the score here
  • Columbia has yet to win a game as the underdog this season and even getting a handful of points I anticipate they will struggle. Penn is far more talented and have an advantage when it comes to size and experience. This is a quite significant offensive mismatch

Maryland vs Illinois, Under 130

  • This game could be first team to 60 points wins. Teams have been traveling to the State Farm Center all season just to have their hopes and dreams crushed. Illinois is 4-8 to the under in home games this season and we should see more of the same tonight
  • Maryland is very dominant but has scored an average of just 62 points per game in their past six road contests. I trust their elite defense to shut down the Illini for most of this game and expect a battle inside the paint. Kofi Cockburn facing Jalen Smith at center is going to be appointment television
  • This is a game where we should see fewer than 66 possessions as both teams like to play at a slow tempo. I anticipate this will mostly be visible when Illinois has the ball. They tend to extend every possession while Maryland always defends for 30 seconds

Central Michigan vs Buffalo, Over 163.5

  • The high totals have burned us as of late but this game has a lot of value on what seems to be a fair number. At least one team has scored 85 points or more in every meeting between these squads since 2016. We should see a tight game with each in the high 80s
  • We have two teams here that each rank inside the Top 10 in terms of adjusted tempo. This game will likely have north of 75 possessions and that will translate well for two teams that each shoot over 43 percent. They can really cruise past the over this evening
  • Every player with consistent minutes for the Chippewas is a junior or senior and not a single one has beaten Buffalo in their career. I am anticipating a win for the Bulls but Central Michigan will be playing harder than ever with this being some players last ever meeting

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
