Welcome to the Opening Day edition of the Stack Report highlighting our favourite MLB DFS team stacks for todays main slate. To start off the season we have healthy sized slates on both sites but unfortunately they are split up so keep in mind that some options may not be available on the main slate for both sites today. With that said, let’s start the season off with a bomb!
vs Julio Teheran: 4.5 implied runs
The Phillies and all their new weapons start the season at home facing Julio Teheran and the Braves. We’ll start with Bryce Harper, usually BvP does not play a huge factor but his numbers against Teheran are too good to ignore. In 40 AB’s against Julio he has 18 hits, 8 of those have been home runs and his OBP in a 52 game PA sample size is .800. Julio Teheran was a reverse splits guy last season with a 1.62 HR/9 against right handers. This makes Rhys Hoskins another amazing option against a righty as he had a .288 ISO against RHP last season. J.T Realmuto was another reverse splits guy to look at and Jean Segura has nice steal upside.
New York Yankees
vs Andrew Cashner: 6 implied runs
The Yankees will likely be one of the more popular stacks on the board on FanDuels main slate tomorrow and rightfully so with their implied run total. Like the rest of the O’s team Andrew Cashner was awful last season and there is 0 indication that will change this year. Obviously the big bats like Judge and Stanton are in play but on FD Troy Tulowitzki is only $2600 and had a strong Spring Training campaign. Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar both hit right handers best so keep them in mind as well. And finally, if Greg Bird finds his way into the lineup he is only $2300 so its worth a flier at that price with an implied run total this high.
vs Mike Minor: 4.9 implied runs
The Cubs start their season at hitter friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington facing lefty Mike Minor. Javi Baez hit lefties well last season with a .269 ISO and .933 OPS against them. Kris Bryant should be no surprise as he looks to bounce back after a rough season. Then there are the value guys, Albert Almora is expected to lead off and although he isnt a big home run guy he is a nice part of a team stack. Switch hitter Ben Zobrist was a .333 hitter last season against lefties to keep an eye out for him to be in the lineup as well.
