Greetings, fellow DFS fanatics and welcome to my Week 13 NFL Main Slate Stack Report for NFL Daily Fantasy Sports Contests. My name is CD Hill (@cdhill81 on Twitter), and as one of DPA’s NFL Gurus, I will once again make it my job to stress the importance of correlation in your GPP rosters this weekend. As I said last week, there are a few elements that focus on this particular game plan and that’s what this write-up concentrates on. Now that you have an understanding of what to anticipate in this article, best of luck this Sunday winning some green in whatever contests you enter, and let’s get down to business!
RB | Christian McCaffrey with | Carolina Panthers D/ST
Right off the bat, the first thing Daily Fantasy Sports owners will think to themselves this week is “Wow, Christian McCaffrey’s DFS price tag is bonkers!” While that may be true, he’s still worth every penny right now for any type of DFS contest you’re interested in joining since he now has an impressive 1,709 scrimmage yards and 16 TDs on the season. He’s shown time and time again that he should be considered an automatic start no matter who he faces because he’s done well even in tough matchups throughout the year. However, one can’t help but salivate a little bit when they notice McCaffrey is slated to go up against a very weak foe in this slate. Right now, this Carolina RB has the luxury of being matched up with a Redskins defense that gives up the sixth most rushing yards in the league. That will surely enhance his chances of having a big game through his team’s rushing attack and he should have no problems getting plenty of catches against Washington, too, since they’re also one of the top 10 worst defenses in the NFL in running back receiving yards against. You also have to realize that a solid D/ST to Stack with this phenom ‘back is the Carolina Panthers. Now, yes, Carolina’s D has struggled to put up a decent amount of fantasy points in recent weeks but this is looking like a rebound week for them since Washington QBs are one of the top-five worst in the NFL in interceptions thrown per game and they’re a top-10 worst offense in the league in preventing sacks. The Redskins are also the worst passing offenses in the NFL and the Panthers are one of the best defenses in the league at getting sacks and interceptions. Washington has a very weak rushing offense as well, so a lot is working in Carolina D’s favor in this one. This Stack might be a popular one in Week 13 (particularly McCaffrey) and the Panthers will be one of the more expensive D/STs to go with at this time, but overall, this combo is a solid bet for ample fantasy points when it’s all said and done. That’s why they’re a wise high leverage play in Tourneys and an ideal Cash game start.
New York Jets
QB | Sam Darnold with RB | Le’Veon Bell
Sam Darnold has been playing terrifically for the Jets in their last three games. In that time, he has averaged a head-turning 26.44 DraftKings points and 25.44 FanDuel points. Le’Veon Bell has also been showing some life finally on offense after a brutal stretch where he barely reached or finished under double-digit Fantasy points several times this year. Now, in two out of his last four games, however, Bell’s averaged a very respectable 18.7 DraftKings points and 16.2 FanDuel points. Since the Jets play against a horrid Bengals defense in Week 13 that are both extremely weak against the pass and run, both Darnold and Bell should thrive in this contest. Both players are high mid-tier DFS picks in this slate and are projected to be highly owned as well in most contests. Darnold has a solid floor and ceiling in this contest while Bell’s upside is decent. Both are a solid Tourney play and viable Cash game one. Finally, you should also consider playing one of the following Jets players I’ll be listing in this write-up in just a moment. All of them have viable upside but not the safest floors. How they’ll be added into this Stack (or not added) will be entirely up to you, though, so give them a look down below and best of luck!
Note: Other Jets players to consider adding or substituting in any way in this Stack are the following: WR – Jamison Crowder, WR – Robbie Anderson, &/or TE – Ryan Griffin.
Los Angeles Rams
QB | Jared Goff with WR | Cooper Kupp &
TE | Tyler Higbee
It’s hard not to like this Stack despite Jared Goff’s recent struggles where he has sported under double-digit Fantasy points on DraftKings and FanDuel in his last three games. Goff should be able to bust out of his slump in a big way this week because he’ll be facing an Arizona defense next that’s absolutely terrible against the pass. They give up not only the most passing yards in the league but the most passing touchdowns, too. The Cards D also only has six picks on the year (tied for third worst in the league with one other defense) and the Arizona D/ST has only managed to score double-digit Fantasy points once this season (back in Week 7 against the Giants). Cooper Kupp has also been struggling of late but we’ll likely see a bounce-back performance from him in Week 13 if Goff turns it around in this one since he is typically Goff’s favorite wideout. Kupp is still averaging a stellar 18.2 DraftKings points and 18.2 FanDuel points this season, so he’s due to have a big day (Fantasy points wise). Tyler Higbee finishes off this Stack trifecta as sneaky good TE play. Since Arizona is also the worst team in the league at minimizing opposing tight ends’ receiving yards and touchdowns, he comes in as a viable play due to his formidable ceiling. Overall, the likelihood that this suggested Rams Stack comes through for its DFS owners is pretty good and Kupp’s the only costly one out of the three, so you’ll save a bit of money in the end to spread out to big time RBs. All of these players are superb GPP starts and make for very doable Cash game plays.
QB | Nick Foles with WR | DJ Chark Jr. and/or RB | Leonard Fournette (GPP)
Yes, the Jaguars offense has struggled a bit since Nick Foles returned from injury, but this is a seemingly perfect time to give him a go against against a pathetic Tampa Bay secondary in Week 13. This could be the game that gets Foles back on track and if he does, top wideout DJ Chark could be the one targeted the most early and often this Sunday. After all, Chark is averaging an eye-opening 13.5 targets per game in two out of his last four games and has a stellar average of 18.2 DraftKings points and 14.9 FanDuel points this year. Those numbers can’t be ignored. With that said, RB Leonard Fournette could easily get involved, too, in Jacksonville’s passing offense since he is now a big part of his team’s passing attack. Fournette is averaging 8.7 targets per game in three out of his last four contests and has averaged 61 receiving yards in two out of his last four games. While it’s true that the Bucs have a solid run D, Fournette could still easily get goal-line opportunities even if he struggles to get his rushing game going and could still manage to end up with 100+ rushing+receiving yards by the end of his contest this Sunday. This is much different ‘back now than he was in the past and he’s shown more versatility this year than ever before. In the end, all three of these players have potential to put up solid stats, especially if their contest with the Bucs turns into a shootout (which is very possible since Jaguars’ defense hasn’t been that good this season). Foles should be a solid cheap investment in this game but Chark and Fournette’s price tags will cost you a decent amount. All in all, though, all three of these players aren’t projected to be crazy high owned in DraftKings or FanDuel contests. All of them have notable upside as well, particularly Foles and Chark. Any Stack combo with Foles here is an excellent GPP play. They can also be considered in Cash contests, too.
