Tossin’ Taters – Week 17 Quarterbacks Breakdown – NFL DFS

196

Hello Playmakers! Back again for the FINAL WEEK of NFL football. To breakdown this article, I’ve chosen my favourite Week 17 quarterbacks at the top and middle value tiers for the position. Let’s get started with the top tier play of the slate…

Top Tier

Patrick Mahomes | KC | $7100 DraftKings | $9500 FanDuel

No surprise that Patrick Mahomes is our top tier QB this week with the Chiefs implied team total sitting at 33 which is the highest mark on the slate. Mahomes dropped 33 FP on the Raiders when these two teams met a few weeks ago. The Raiders now sit dead last in DVOA against the pass and 28th in yards allowed per completion. The price tag is high for Mahomes but there is a ton of Week 17 value out there to be able to fit him into your lineups.

Ben Roethlisberger | PIT | $7000 DraftKings | $8700 FanDuel

Big Ben and the Steelers will be playing for their playoff lives on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers come into this game implied to score 30 points facing a defence that ranks 27th in DVOA against the pass and 31st in FP allowed to opposing QBs. Despite the high spread the Steelers likely won’t be afraid to run up the score as they need as healthy of a lead as they can get. Strong correlation with his receivers as well makes Roethlisberger a good GPP play.

Mid Tier

Russell Wilson | SEA | $6100 DraftKings | $8300 FanDuel

The Seahawks are closing out their season at home against the Arizona Cardinals. Seattle will be looking to maintain the top Wildcard spot in the NFC so they still have plenty to play for here. Wilson has been outstanding at home this season and the Cardinals have only the first overall pick left to play for. Look for Wilson and the Seahawks to lock up the top Wildcard Spot in the NFC in an emphatic manner.

Value Tier

Derek Carr | OAK | $5100 DraftKings | $6800 FanDuel

One value QB to look at this Sunday is Derek Carr. As bad as he has been the Chiefs pass defence has been worse. Over the last 5 weeks the Chiefs have given up 27 FPPG to opposing QBs. With numbers that bad at Derek Carr’s price he is definitely worth a look on Sunday. He can be paired with a couple receivers as well which puts him in play as a good tournament play.

Blake Bortles | JAX | $4400 DraftKings | $6000 FanDuel

The B.O.A.T is back starting for the Jaguars this weekend. Although the Jaguars themselves dont really have anything to play for they will have the opportunity to play spoiler for their divisional rivals. Over the last five weeks the Texans have given up 25 FPPG to opposing quarterbacks. With Bortles rushing upside paired with his near minimum salary price tag on both sites he is worth a look as a very low owned tournament value play at the position.
